I never imagined I'd write this, but my recent experience at Max Saket has compelled me to speak out. Max Healthcare is 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲.

On July 2nd, my father was admitted to Max Saket with a high fever and severe red rashes all over his body. Following our local doctor’s advice, we rushed him to emergency due to low BP, but the treatment and billing process turned into a nightmare. Here are the glaring issues in our bill:

➡️𝐹𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠: The senior doctor visited twice, yet we were charged for 5 consultations. The junior doctor visited twice, but we were billed for 3 visits.
➡️𝐷𝑟𝑢𝑔𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑀𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠: Several entries for medicines and injections were listed, which were never given to my father.
➡️𝐼𝑛𝑣𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑔𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠: We were billed ₹54,580 for tests, but have yet to receive results for 4 of them.
➡️𝑀𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑠: Unjustifiable and absurd charges with no explanation.

The total amount billed was ₹1,05,306.80 for just 2.5 days. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐲𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥. The admitting doctor was arrogant and indifferent, and instead of providing clarity when we requested discharge, they kept scaring us.

𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝟒-𝟓 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐟𝐮𝐥. Even the patient was not allowed to leave until we paid the unjust bill.

A friend pursuing MBBS has heard from a reliable source that Max Hospital staff have monthly targets for patients and are compensated accordingly, keeping patients admitted for days just to earn money. This is pure evil.

This experience highlights the dark side of our healthcare industry. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 ₹𝟏 𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐨-𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐰𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.

𝐼𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑓𝑎𝑐𝑒𝑑 𝑎 𝑠𝑖𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑎𝑟 𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑢𝑒 𝑎𝑡 𝑀𝑎𝑥 𝐻𝑜𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑠, 𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠.💭

I urge everyone to BOYCOTT MAX HOSPITALS. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦. This is an egregious abuse of trust and hard-earned money.

It’s with every other hospital…. Max is not the only one. You go to any private hospital, no govt. panel is entertained. It’s more of a corruption then a cooperation. If you don’t have money you can’t get good treatment.
Govt. is busy in hypocrisy, instead of developing a good healthcare infrastructure they onlu believe in “Structure”.

This was truly necessary to share with everyone. Hat's off Isha Sansanwal for the courage and clarity. It's high time they think about the patients rather than money.
